Hi I booked initially for 4 nights (30 April - 3 May) via the EMDR Conference link. At the time there was no room available for Saturday 4 May. I called on 31 March for a cancellation and was advised that I was booked for 4 May for $312.00 a night. On my arrival on 30 April I was advised that I had been booked for the night before (29 April) and as I did not arrive would be charged a missed night. Your Manager Raine Walker was fantastic and was eventually able to book me in for Saturday 4 May thus avoiding searching for other accommodation which would have been very inconvenient as the conference finished at 5pm and the Gala dinner was 7pm. Unfortunately I was charged $600 for the 4 May as opposed to my original booking of $312.00. I am not happy about this extra $300 charged and being booked for the wrong night. Other areas of disappointment are: 1. Lifts - on the Sunday lifts did not work and for a short time I was stranded on Level 10 unable to bring my bags to reception. 2. Standard of the room was very average - pillows were terrible but I was able to have a better pillow delivered to my room. 3. Television - I wanted to attach an HDMI cord to link my lap top to the television but there was little room to plus it in. Also the search for television channels is clunky and hard to access. 4. My colleague Reneshree Govendor also had poor service eg charged for breakfast two times. She has submitted a separate report. Whilst some staff (Raine Walker) were fantastic the overall standard of my stay was very poor and at this stage would not recommend the Sofitel. Happy to discuss my comments - my mobile no is: 04…. No free internet access. Very old elevators

First time staying in a hotel without free internet access. It’s 2024, even old airbnbs have free wifi. Elevators are really old. Staff kept clarifying and charging for my breakfast buffet (not seemingly aware it was part of the package) Only redeeming factor is the breakfast buffet. Good food.
